Christine Riley

LMFT

My journey into the helping field started as a child, when I was naturally drawn to those who seemed lonely or lost, not just seeing discomfort, but feeling compelled to do or say something to offer relief. My love for the power of healing through connection began and has only deepened over time.

I opted for Marriage and Family Therapy as it is, to me, the most comprehensive approach to healing. In our time together we will explore not only your current struggles and resources using a client-centered, strengths-based approach, but we will identify your attachment styles, which form in early childhood. Working together to target attachment traumas or disruptions will allow us to repair and move into healthier connections with yourself, loved ones, any anyone you're hoping to build stronger community with. We can also utilize Cognitive-Behavioral and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to work toward healthier thinking, emoting, and behavioral growth. Mindfulness practices and mediation will also be a part of our work together, as a "quiet mind" is truly what we're striving for, knowing it will get you to better decision making, problem solving, self-esteem, awareness, goal setting, and more fulfilling relationships.

The work I've done in the past 20 years includes individual, group, family, and couples' therapy. I've been able to gain this experience in a variety of settings including: outpatient treatment centers, community mental health, preventative services, acute care, school-based treatment, and wilderness therapy. I have training and experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma and abuse, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, attachment issues, adoption, loss/grief, emotional regulation/reactivity issues, self-injury, gender dysphoria, body image issues/disordered eating, divorce/separation, social difficulties, and transitional considerations.

It's been an honor to be a part of the healing of others, as I truly believe the courage and commitment made to building one's sense of awareness, esteem, relationships, and health us the most meaningful work.

When I'm enjoying some "down time" I can be found most often somewhere (just about anywhere) adventuring outdoors with my husband, three sons, and "Scout," the world's best Chocolate Lab. Or, when it's time for quiet- reading, in my garden, or playing my piano.
